Raikou EX (BW4 Dark Rush) 025/069 and SR 071/069 1st Edition Pokémon Card Guide

Raikou EX (BW4 Dark Rush) 025/069 and SR 071/069 1st Edition Pokémon Card Guide

Raikou EX from Dark Rush is the card collectors mean when they search for a Raikou EX from the BW4 era (English-language searches use the phrase “Raikou ex Dark Explorers”, a search name only): the official Pokémon Card Game database lists ライコウEX as BW4-B 025/069, HP 170, illustrated by shizurow, while our store lists a PSA 10 Raikou EX under a different number, 071/069. This guide explains how those two numbers relate, what the printed card text says, how the 2011 Raikou EX differs from the 2026 Raikou ex, and how to read the listing name before you ask for a quote.

We sell Japanese sealed product and PSA 10 singles from Tokyo. Card facts below come from the official database on pokemon-card.com (checked on October 29, 2026). Yen figures are prices on our own store, converted at ¥154/USD, approximate. The database does not print rarity letters, so “SR” and “1ED” appear here only as our listing names them.

Key Takeaways
  • The official database entry is ライコウEX BW4-B 025/069: Basic, HP 170, illustrator shizurow, two attacks (Thunder Fang and Voltage Arrow in rendering).
  • Our listing is named “PSA10 Raikou EX SR 1ED [BW4 071/069]” — the secret-numbered print, above the set’s printed 069. It is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966), sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
  • The database page we cite is for 025/069. We state no illustrator or artwork detail for 071/069.

The Official Database Entry: BW4-B 025/069

Dark Rush carries the set code BW4; the official database files its cards under the code BW4-B. The Raikou EX entry reads as follows.

Dark Rush was released on Friday, December 16, 2011, according to our Entei cards guide. That guide dates the set by its Entei EX; the Raikou EX shares the set code and release. The database page prints no rarity letter for this EX, so we state none.

What the Card Text Says

The card has two attacks. The following is a rendering of the printed Japanese text, not an official English wording.

Attack (JP) Rendering of name Printed effect (rendering)
かみなりのキバ 30 Thunder Fang Flip a coin. If heads, the opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.
ボルテージアロー Voltage Arrow Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon. This attack does 100 damage to 1 of the opponent’s Pokémon. (Damage to Benched Pokémon is not affected by weakness or resistance.)

The shape of the card is a 30-damage first attack with a coin-flip side effect and a high-damage second attack that costs you the attached Energy. Voltage Arrow can target any of the opponent’s Pokémon, not only the Active one, which is the card’s distinctive feature on paper. We make no claim about how the card performs in any format; this is a description of the printed text.

The special rule on the card is the EX rule: the card prints that the opponent takes 2 Prize cards when this Pokémon is Knocked Out.

Its Dark Rush Sibling: Entei EX 009/069

The Dark Rush set carries both a Raikou EX and an Entei EX, and the same illustrator credit appears on both. Putting the two entries next to each other makes the differences easy to see.

Both cards give the second attack a drawback or a setup role, and both open with a 30-damage attack that applies a Special Condition. Our Entei cards guide covers the Entei EX print in more detail.

The 071/069 Number on Our Listing

Our listing names the card “PSA10 Raikou EX SR 1ED [BW4 071/069]”. The number 071 is higher than the set’s printed count of 069, so it is a secret-numbered print. The same situation appears in the database with 092/076 and 108/076 in Storm Emeralda, and with 162/103 in the 30th CELEBRATION set.

This is where the two numbers in this article diverge. The official database page we cite for the base print is 025/069. The listing is for the secret-numbered 071/069. Both belong to the Raikou EX family in Dark Rush, but they are different card numbers, and the database page for 025/069 does not describe 071/069. For that reason we do not attribute an illustrator, a rarity or an artwork to 071/069 here; the only thing we can state is what the listing name says.

Print Number What we can state
Base Raikou EX 025/069 Official database entry: HP 170, shizurow, two attacks
Secret-numbered Raikou EX 071/069 The number our listing names; it is above the set count; no illustrator stated here

How to Read the Listing Name

Our PSA 10 listings use a compact name format. Each token tells you something specific, and some tokens tell you less than they appear to.

PSA 10 graded Raikou EX SR 1st Edition BW4 071/069 Dark Rush slab
PSA 10 Raikou EX SR 1ED [BW4 071/069] — the graded card our listing carries (own image)
Token in the listing name What it tells you
PSA10 The card is graded 10 by PSA. The grade is PSA’s, not ours.
Raikou EX The upper-case EX of Dark Rush, not the lower-case ex of 2026
SR The rarity letter as our listing names it; the official database does not print rarities
1ED First Edition, written 1ED in the listing name; our earlier guides call this print “Raikou EX SR 1st Edition”
[BW4 071/069] Set code BW4 (Dark Rush) and the secret-numbered 071/069
Expansion Pack “Dark Rush” The product the card comes from

The listing is a PSA 10 back order, which means a graded copy is sourced to order rather than held for immediate sale. We state the price as it appears on the product page and nothing about timing. You can see the terms on the Raikou EX SR 1ED product page, currently offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966).

Raikou EX (2011) vs Raikou ex (2026)

The 2011 card and the 2026 Raikou ex share a name and a rule, but they are different products from different decades. The EX of Dark Rush is written with a capital “EX” in the database; the 2026 card in Storm Emeralda is ライコウex with a lower-case “ex”.

The Storm Emeralda Raikou ex belongs to a set we list as a sealed box; the Dark Rush Raikou EX is a graded single. Our guides to the newer card, Raikou ex 024/076 and the broader Raikou Mega-era prints guide, go through its numbers and illustrators.

The sealed route to the newer Raikou

The 2026 Raikou ex lives in Storm Emeralda, so the sealed box is the product that contains it. A box is a random assortment: it can contain the card, but we publish no pull rates and make no statement about what a particular box holds.

Where Dark Rush Sits in the Raikou Lineage

Raikou has appeared in the official database under several card formats, and each format changes what the numbers on the card mean. Reading the entries in order shows how HP and the rule box have moved, using only values the database prints.

Card Set code and number Illustrator HP Rule on the card
エンテイ&ライコウLEGEND L2-B 063/080 and 064/080 Shinji Higuchi 140 Two halves combined on the Bench; 2 Prize cards
ライコウEX BW4-B 025/069 shizurow 170 Pokémon-EX; 2 Prize cards
ライコウV S12a 038/172 PLANETA Mochizuki 200 Pokémon V; 2 Prize cards
ライコウex M6 024/076 aky CG Works 200 Pokémon ex; 2 Prize cards

The rule column gives the text printed on each card; the Prize-card rule for each card type is on the official rules page. The database does not rank them or describe how the formats differ in play beyond the printed text, and neither do we. The LEGEND row is a two-piece card, not a single Raikou, so it is included for context only. The Raikou V in the table is the plain S12a 038/172; the secret-numbered S12a 218/172 (listed by us as SAR) is the card in our PSA 10 listing further down.

What the table does show is that the Dark Rush EX sits between the LEGEND era and the V era in HP terms: 170, against 140 and 200. For collectors, that makes it a useful reference for what a Raikou EX looks like on paper, which is the reason we describe its text and illustrator credit in full above.

Before You Ask for a Quote

A short checklist keeps a request for this card precise. None of it requires anything beyond reading the listing and the card.

  1. Match the number. The listing is for 071/069. If you are shopping for the base 025/069 print, say so; the two are different numbers.
  2. Read the edition token. The listing carries 1ED. A request that does not mention the edition may be answered with a different listing.
  3. Read the grade. PSA 10 is the grade on the listing; the slab label and certification number are the document to check against the card.
  4. Read the terms on the product page. The listing is a back order, sourced to order, so the product page is where the current terms are shown.
  5. Know the era. A Raikou EX is not a Raikou ex; if you meant the 2026 card, the box above or a Storm Emeralda single is the right route.

If you are comparing against a card you already own, hold it against the official image above: the artwork, the HP of 170 and the two attack names are the identification checks for the base 025/069 print. For the secret-numbered 071/069, the number printed in the corner and the edition mark are the checks the listing itself names.

Other Raikou PSA 10 Listings We Carry

Raikou collectors usually look across eras, so here are the other Raikou PSA 10 back orders we list. Each is a different card from the one in this guide, sourced to order, and the product pages show the current terms.

The Raikou EX in this article is the only Dark Rush card among them. For a wider view of how Raikou cards are numbered across Japanese sets, the legendary beasts guide is the longer reference.

Where to Buy

For the Dark Rush card, the starting point is the PSA10 Raikou EX SR 1ED [BW4 071/069] product page, offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966), sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. For other graded Raikou and for sealed Mega-era sets, the card-list hub and the Mega-era card list show what is currently listed. Sourcing requests for a specific card that is not listed go through Quick Order.

On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「イナズマの衝撃」 (working English translation: Lightning Impact; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Raikou set; nothing is announced. Our Raikou trademark guide explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the ex★ 2027 round-up covers all four marks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who illustrated Raikou EX from Dark Rush?

The official database credits shizurow for ライコウEX BW4-B 025/069. The database page for 025/069 does not describe the 071/069 print, so we state no illustrator for it.

What is the HP of Raikou EX 025/069?

170 HP. It is a Basic Pokémon with two attacks, Thunder Fang and Voltage Arrow (renderings of the printed Japanese names), and the opponent takes 2 Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.

Why does our listing say 071/069 when the database says 025/069?

They are two different numbers in the same Dark Rush set. 025/069 is the database entry for Raikou EX; 071/069 is the secret-numbered print our listing names, above the set’s printed 069.

What does 1ED mean on the listing name?

It is how our listing names the First Edition. The official database does not print edition marks or rarity letters, so SR and 1ED here are as the listing names them.

Is Raikou EX the same as Raikou ex?

No. The 2011 Dark Rush card is ライコウEX with HP 170; the 2026 Storm Emeralda cards are ライコウex with HP 200. Both give the opponent 2 Prize cards when Knocked Out.
