This guide lists the seven English Mega Evolution sets exactly as pokemon.com describes them, then the Japanese MEGA boxes we list, and it separates what the official pages state from what media have reported.
The short version is that the official English pages do not say which Japanese set each English set corresponds to. Where a pairing has been reported by media, this guide labels it “widely reported (media)” and does not treat it as official.

The March 27 date for Perfect Order comes from an official media alert, because the set page itself shows no date. Delta Reign is scheduled for November 6, 2026, and its official news page describes Mega Rayquaza ex as the flagship along with Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex.
What Is Official and What Is Reported
For four of the seven English sets (Mega Evolution, Phantasmal Flames, Perfect Order and Chaos Rising) no Japanese counterpart is stated on the official pages. For the other three, the position is as follows.

The 30th Celebration Case
The 30th Celebration is an example where the two official sites describe the same features, although the English text still does not name the Japanese set. The English set page lists over 150 cards, 30 Pikachu rare cards, 30 iconic cards from the Classic Collection and two Futuristic rare cards by YOSHIROTTEN (Mewtwo and Mew).
The Japanese official site describes the ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA 拡張パック「30th CELEBRATION」 (M6a) with 30 Pikachu by 30 illustrators, 30 historic cards reprinted in special specification, and a design by YOSHIROTTEN. The Japanese page also states that the 30th anniversary products release worldwide at the same time, with some regions excluded, and the English set released on September 16, 2026, the same day as M6a. How to Compare an English Set With a Japanese One
Because the official pages do not pair the sets, a careful comparison uses the printed card information rather than the set name.
- Use the card number and set code. Japanese cards print a set code such as M2 or M6a, and the number carries the set’s own numbering. Our guide to reading Japanese Pokemon cards shows where to find them.
- Treat counts as set-specific. English counts are printed as “over N”. For Japanese counts, read the set’s card list page instead of estimating from an English total.
- Check the language differences. Pack sizes, rarity ladders and card frames differ between markets. Our Japanese vs English comparison covers them.
- Label sources. A media pairing is useful as a lead, but a card list is the only way to confirm which cards a set contains.
