The Japanese Set Behind Chaos Rising
Bulbapedia's list of Japanese expansions (as of September 15, 2026) pairs Chaos Rising with M4 Ninja Spinner, the Japanese set that features Mega Greninja ex. Ninja Spinner (M4) Rarity Breakdown
The official database lists 120 M4 entries: an 83-card base set plus 37 secret-range cards. In the secret range, the official rarities are 12 AR, 18 SR, 6 SAR and 1 MUR. Limitless TCG's Japanese catalogue lists the same 120 entries under its own labels: 1 Ultra Rare, 18 Secret Rare, 6 Special Art Rare, 12 Art Rare, 8 Double Rare, 8 Rare, 29 Uncommon and 38 Common.
| English No. | English label (Limitless) | Japanese No. | Japanese label (Limitless) | Japanese official |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 87–97 (11 cards) | Art Rare | 084, 086–095 | Art Rare | AR |
| 98–115 (18 cards) | Ultra Rare | 096–113 | Secret Rare | SR |
| 116–121 (6 cards) | Special Art Rare | 114–119 | Special Art Rare | SAR |
| 122 (1 card) | Secret Rare | 120 | Ultra Rare | MUR |
The two sites use the same words for different tiers. Limitless TCG calls the Japanese SR "Secret Rare" and the Japanese MUR "Ultra Rare", while its English list uses "Ultra Rare" for the tier that pairs with the Japanese SR and "Secret Rare" for the tier that pairs with the MUR. The pairing rule used in this list is name plus rarity tier, an inference that Limitless TCG's card pages support, not an official equivalence table.

Chaos Rising Card List FAQ
How many cards are in the Chaos Rising card list?
Limitless TCG lists 122 cards: 86 numbered main-set cards plus 36 secret rares numbered 087 to 122. The official Pokémon set pages print “Over 120 cards” rather than an exact figure, so 122 is Limitless TCG's count and also the sum of the 86 and 36 split.
How many secret rares does Chaos Rising have?
Per Limitless TCG, Chaos Rising has 36 cards numbered above the 86-card main set: 11 Art Rare, 18 Ultra Rare, 6 Special Art Rare and 1 Secret Rare. Mega Greninja ex holds three of those slots, Nos. 100, 116 and 122, more than any other card.
When did Chaos Rising and the Japanese Ninja Spinner set release?
Chaos Rising released in English on May 22, 2026. The Japanese set behind it, M4 Ninja Spinner, released on March 13, 2026, according to the official Japanese Pokémon Card Game page, which is roughly two months before the English set.
Which Japanese set is behind Chaos Rising?
M4 Ninja Spinner is the Japanese set behind Chaos Rising. Its secret rares match M4 prints card by card per Limitless TCG, as printed on September 30, 2026: English No. 122 Mega Greninja ex matches M4 120/083, the MUR, and is recorded as the same artwork.
Are the Japanese and English Mega Greninja ex secret rares the same art?
Two Mega Greninja ex pairs are recorded as the same artwork: English No. 116 with Japanese SAR No. 114, and English No. 122 with Japanese MUR No. 120. Other pairings, such as the Ultra Rare and SR prints, carry no same-artwork record.
Why do Chaos Rising secret rares read 087/086 and above?
The main set is 86 cards, so English secret rares are numbered 87 to 122, above the printed set size, and read 087/086 through 122/086. Japanese Ninja Spinner works the same way: the base set is /083 and the secret range runs from 084 to 120.
